OUR HISTORY
Mitch Malcolm started Lightning Magneto part-time in 1992 and went into business full time in 1994. He started out repairing antique magnetos, and quickly evolved into manufacturing parts because he couldn’t find them or they weren’t sufficient quality.
In 2020 Mitch sold the business to Flywheel-Supply.com. The added product line will compliment their current offering of Hit & Miss gas engine parts.
Lightning Magneto now manufactures top quality replacement parts, low- and high-tension magneto parts, rebuilt magneto parts, complete new magnetos, and a full line of new/reproduction parts for the John Deere E series engines.
Lightning Magneto also reproduces 3/4-inch pipe thread spark plugs. These are copies from the Bethlehem Mica plugs used on the IHC tractors and other models, available in two different finishes: natural steel and blued/blackened steel.
